Digital Mobility
Platform
Whitelabel UX/UI Design for Vehicle Rent & Subscription across Desktop & Mobile
01 — Overview
Project Overview
The Brief
KMS Mobility Solutions is a Berlin-based mobility tech company that builds whitelabel digital platforms for automotive OEMs. As Product Designer for over three years, I owned the end-to-end UX/UI for the JLR platform — from early discovery through to production handoff.
The Challenge
JLR needed a fully branded platform enabling customers to both rent vehicles (short-term, daily rates) and subscribe to vehicles (long-term, monthly rates) — delivered across desktop and mobile. The platform had to flex across multiple countries, languages, and dealer networks while adhering strictly to JLR’s premium brand identity.
- Rent Flow5-step booking funnel — station selection through checkout & confirmation
- Subscription FlowBrowse, configure, and subscribe to a JLR vehicle in 3 steps
- Mobile ExperienceFull responsive UI with native payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal)
- Design SystemComponent library aligned to JLR brand guidelines
02 — Process
Design Process
A structured approach from discovery to handoff, with continuous iteration and close collaboration with JLR’s brand and engineering teams.
Whitelabel Flexibility
Every component was designed to be re-skinned per OEM client. No hard-coded brand assets — all colours, logos, and copy were parametric.
Progressive Disclosure
Complex booking flows were broken into clear, digestible steps. Users only see what they need, when they need it.
Brand Integrity
JLR’s premium positioning was respected at every touchpoint — from micro-interactions to empty states and error handling.
Consistency at Scale
A shared component library ensured visual and interaction consistency across both the Rent and Subscription products.
Section 01
Desktop
Experience
Full-featured web platform covering Rent and Subscription across a 5-step and 3-step booking funnel.
03 — Desktop Screens
Homepage — Dual-Mode Landing Page
The unified entry point for both products. A full-bleed hero image sets JLR’s premium tone. The MIETE / ABO toggle and inline search bar let users initiate a booking immediately. Two CTA cards below route users into either the Rent or Subscription funnel.
Step 1: Station Selection
Interactive map view with filter sidebar. Clicking a pin surfaces station details inline.
Step 2: Vehicle Selection
Card grid with daily pricing and a smart „Alternative Results“ section to prevent zero-result dead-ends.
Step 3: Options & Extras
Modular 3-column configuration — insurance tier, mileage package, add-ons — with a persistent order summary panel.
Booking Confirmation
Clear post-booking feedback with station map, summary card, and dual CTAs. Calm tone reinforces JLR’s premium positioning.
Subscription — Vehicle Catalogue
Photography-led grid of 84+ vehicles with a comprehensive left-rail filter panel across brand, model, period, mileage, fuel type, and price.
Subscription — Vehicle Detail
Full gallery with sticky right-panel configurator — mileage, contract duration, colour, HP, fuel, transmission — with live monthly price calculation.
Section 02
Mobile
Experience
Responsive design across the full Rent booking flow with native payment methods.
04 — Mobile Screens

05 — Outcomes
Outcomes & Reflection
-
1
End-to-End Platform Delivered
Successfully designed and delivered a high-fidelity prototype covering both the Rent and Subscription products across desktop and mobile. The platform was built to production and deployed for Jaguar Land Rover across multiple European markets.
-
2
Scalable Whitelabel Architecture
The design system and component library were structured for rapid re-deployment per OEM client — enabling KMS to reuse the platform foundation for additional automotive partners beyond JLR.
-
3
Complex Flows Simplified
A 5-step rental funnel and a 3-step subscription checkout were each streamlined for desktop and mobile. Step indicators, inline validation, and persistent order summaries reduced drop-off at critical conversion points.
-
4
Premium Brand Execution
The design adhered strictly to JLR brand guidelines across both platforms — typographic hierarchy, image treatment, colour palette, and interaction patterns — resulting in an experience that felt native to the JLR ecosystem.
Personal Reflection
Working on JLR over three years gave me deep experience designing enterprise-scale whitelabel products for a luxury automotive brand. I learned to balance tight brand governance with genuine user needs, and to navigate complex multi-stakeholder environments where product, engineering, and brand teams all had a seat at the table.
